LAKE COUNTY — As of 5:15 p.m. on Monday, the level of Clear Lake stood at 8.50 feet Rumsey. Flood stage for Clear Lake is 9.0 feet Rumsey, according to county officials.
Pursuant to a fact sheet published by the Lake County Water Resources Department, it is projected that the Lake will reach 9.0 feet Rumsey by Wednesday and 9.5 feet Rumsey by Friday.
Rainfall is predicted to be 1 inch today, 1.2 inches on Wednesday, 1.2 inches on Thursday and .2 inches on Friday. For every one inch of rain that falls at lake level, Clear Lake will rise approximately 5 inches.
The City of Lakeport has ordered Aqua Dams, which are expected to arrive on Thursday afternoon. These will be used to protect Library Park.
Sand and sandbags are available throughout the county.
As of Monday afternoon, Mendo-Mill at 2465 S. Main St. in Lakeport reported that they have 165 empty sandbags.
Kelseyville Lumber at 3505 Merritt Road in Kelseyville has 300 filled sandbags and 500 empty ones. Kelseyville Lumber is expecting 10,000 empty sandbags to come in on Wednesday.
Sand is available from RB Peters at 78 Soda Bay Road, but the business does not carry the sandbags.
Sand may also be purchased from Pivniska Trucking at 85 West Highway 20 in Upper Lake, Layne Paving and Trucking at 3700 Old Highway 53 and Clear Lake Lava located at 14572 East Highway 20 in Clearlake Oaks.
