Hip-hop collaboration at Soper-Reese

LAKEPORT — April 16 marks a hip-hop collaboration including Big “D,” Spaz, Acetrain, Killabay, Guido the Boy, Doc Wizzle, Young Tubb, Dre B Mackin, Mr. Go Getter, Money Bag Mobb, Macinffuco, Mr. Miller and many more at the Soper-Reese Community Theatre, located at 275 S. Main St. in Lakeport.

These artists lay out a hip-hop concert with an open dance floor. While all are welcome, parental consent is required.

Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 the day of the concert and $15 for the VIP package. The VIP tickets include the const of the concert, boasting the best seats in the house, and a DVD of the event as a souvenir.

Tickets are available online at www.SoperReeseTheatre.com or at the theater box office, open from noon to 5 p.m. Thursdays and for two hours before showtime on the day of the show.Tickets are also on sale at Catfish Books in the Safeway Center, Lakeport; at the Lower Lake Coffee Company on Main St. or by phone at 263-0577.

We Love Tules festival accepting entries

LAKEPORT — Organizers are accepting entries until 6 p.m. March 30 for the second annual We Love Tules Four-Minute Film Festival, taking place at 7 p.m. April 7 at the Lakeport Yacht Club.

Lost Boys to perform at Soper-Reese

LAKEPORT — The Lost Boys present their first-ever headline theater concert, April 1 and April 2 at the Soper-Reese Community Theatre. The performance features three guest artists, all from Lake County.

Hailing from Middletown and scheduled to open the show is 11-year-old Connor Gill and the Gill Brothers Band, followed by Tajie D. (Taj Dedrick) and K-Town Entertainment from Kelseyville. The third artist on the four-act bill will be Lakeport resident and ex-member of The Lost Boys, Matt Weiss, and his new hip hop show.

General admission tickets are $21 in advance and $25 on the day of the show. VIP Package for two is available for $60 and includes two tickets to the show, priority seating, private autograph session, sound check admission and a copy of the new CD, “Running Red Lights.” Tickets and VIP Packages are available at www.2lostboys.com . Free proctoring available at Lakeport Library

LAKEPORT — Free proctering is available to students who need a proctor for online college exams at the Lakeport Library, 1425 High St. Proctors are generally available on Thursday afternoons. For more information, contact the Lakeport Library at 263-8817. Donations for this service are graciously accepted by Friends of the Lake County Library.

Liebe and Eells to present watercolor class

LAKEPORT ? Diana Liebe will present a one-day workshop in watercolors, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 18 at the Lake County Arts Council”s Main Street Gallery, located at 325 N. Main St. in Lakeport.

The class will begin with warm up exercises and progress to executing a seascape and a landscape paintings. Participants are asked to bring their own watercolors and suitable paper.

Assisting with the class will be acrylics artist John Eells. These two artists promise an instructive and entertaining day of exploring the medium of watercolor.

The fee for the class is $25 and registration can be made by calling the Main Street Gallery at 263-6658. This class is limited to the first 10 registrants.
