LAKE COUNTY — Local and state transportation agencies have issued a request for proposals (RFP) for an upcoming project, the Lake County Area Wide Microsimulation Model.

The Lake County/City Area Planning Council (APC), in partnership with Caltrans, is soliciting proposals for the creation of a microsimulation model, using TransModeler software, of the highways 20, 29 and 53 corridor, as well as Highway 29 from the Napa County border to Highway 53, including selected local streets.

Caltrans will be the contract manager for the project.

The selected consultant will prepare a dynamic microsimulation model, using the TransModeler software to quantify the cumulative impacts and diversionary effects of individual projects on the highways” corridor.

Additionally, the selected consultant will provide the traffic data necessary for long-term maintenance and upkeep of the model for an overall goal of identifying and prioritizing appropriate improvements.

The project will include a final report, digital files of all reports and data, all TransModeler files, staff training and a final presentation. The RFP can be accessed online at www.dot.ca.gov/dist1/d1transplan/lamm_rfp.htm.

Proposals must be received by 4 p.m. on April 20. Proposals will be screened based on criteria included in the RFP packet and a consultant selection panel may interview consulting firms with the highest rated proposals with representatives from Caltrans, the APC and other local agencies.

For more information on the RFP or the project, contact Caltrans transportation engineer Rick Mayberry by phone at 445-6634 or by e-mail at rick_mayberry@dot.ca.gov.
