KELSEYVILLE — At approximately 2 a.m. on Friday firefighters with the Kelseyville Fire Protection District responded to a residential structure fire on Fairway Drive in the Clear Lake Riviera, according to Capt. James Bauman, public information officer for Lake County Sheriff”s Office.
After arriving and battling the blaze for nearly an hour, fire personnel reported finding a victim dead in the home and requested a deputy coroner. Sheriff”s deputies responded to the scene of the fire and began a coroner”s investigation.
Sheriff”s detectives who are investigating the circumstances of the fire have deemed it suspicious and are treating it as a homicide. Fire investigators from the Kelseyville Fire Protection District, Lake County Fire and CALFIRE have been investigating the cause and origin of the fire since early Friday morning.
