LAKEPORT — A judge Monday delayed the sentencing hearing for a Sonoma County man recently convicted of 10 felonies after the defense requested more time to review the probation officer”s report.

A jury in March convicted Thomas Loyd Dudney, 60, of 10 felony counts, and found all charged special allegations to be true, because of his role in an Oct. 20, 2009 incident in which Lakeport resident Ronald Greiner was shot, tortured and hogtied.

The jury returned guilty verdicts for first-degree attempted murder, mayhem, torture, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary with another person, assault with a firearm, assault with a blunt force object, assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury, battery with serious bodily injury and active participation in a criminal street gang.

Many of the felony counts, coupled with sentence enhancements as a result of special allegations, could carry life sentences.

A probation officer, in a report submitted Wednesday, recommended that Dudney be sentenced to an aggregate term of 183 years to life and pay restitution of more than $27,000.

Dudney”s sentencing had been scheduled for Monday, but Dudney”s defense attorney, Doug Rhoades, told the court that he wanted more time to review the probation officer”s report and confer with his client. Judge Arthur H. Mann continued the sentencing hearing until May 10 at the Lake County Courthouse.
