LAKEPORT — Interim police chief Brad Rasmussen introduced the community to two new Lakeport Police Department (LPD) staff members during Tuesday”s city council meeting.
Lake County resident Joseph “Joe” Eastham is the department”s new police officer. Colleagues and family members, including his wife and two young children, joined Eastham as City Clerk Janel Chapman swore him in.
The LPD role is the first law enforcement position for Eastham, who showed “good education in his background” during the recruitment process, according to Rasmussen.
Rasmussen also introduced Lakeport resident Greg Scott as a new LPD volunteer.
Scott, who worked for CAL FIRE and has significant emergency preparedness experience, will help the department with citywide emergency planning and staff training, Rasmussen said.
