Neighbors, I am writing in response to the reader who apparently misunderstood my letter on April 1.

He didn”t comment that our church would snub him. He was talking about churches and Christians or so-called Christians in general.

I never mentioned my church by name on purpose as I didn”t want people to misinterpret my letters to be an advertisement for my church.

My church, which happens to be Lake County Bible Fellowship on N. Forbes is Lakeport happens to be one of the few he mentioned he would feel comfortable in, as we have an outreach program for the poor and needy unlike many churches that don”t reach out.

We have a lunch and a clothes closet that anyone is welcome to.

One Sunday we had a woman who came to our church with a need for clothes for her children. We took her into the clothes closet and helped her with her need even though it wasn”t open. One day we had a homeless woman who came to the church office and had not had any sleep in two days and not a meal.

Our secretary shared her lunch, gave her a couch to rest on, then when she felt well enough she was given a sack of groceries and some clothes from our clothes closet.

I praise God for our church and the people who attend it who have a passion for the less fortunate. We would and never will snub our noses at those people. They will only be blessed by the true word of God, prayer and the true meaning of love while they are there. We try our best to make all people feel welcome. I don”t believe God looks on anyone more highly than the other. God bless and feel free to visit a church; you will feel the same and not looked down on.
