LAKE COUNTY — Faith Hornby, 14, of Lakeport, has a long laundry list of goods deeds to her credit.
Hornby serves as an ambassador to the region as Miss Lake County”s Outstanding Teen.
She will be adding to her lengthy list on Saturday as she will distribute wigs to anyone in need who is going through or has gone through treatments causing hair loss.
She is also accepting wigs or donations for wigs and supplies. Hornby is creating a wig station at Dr. Turrill”s office, for those who are unable to attend Saturday”s event. She plans to utilize a user-friendly photobook of wigs.
Hornby raised money for wig heads, wig caps, wig shampoo and will help style and show how to care for wigs.
The location is the same as where Hornby donated eight portable DVD players, DVDs and CDs for patients to watch or listen to during their treatments. Her idea was to provide something to take the patient”s mind off of the treatment. She drops off movies and CDs regularly and encourages others to do so.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Skin Fitness, rain or shine, at 914 S. Main Street in Lakeport. For more information please call 263-3400.
