I read the commentary by Mr. Worth and I must admit that simplicity of all of what he was saying is almost novel in itself. We have over extended our stay in many countries and especially that do not give a hoot about us holding out both hands for aid in their lands.
Truly, with all the problems that we have at home you would think that before we contribute out resources we would prioritize by being first to give ourselves a helping hand. It seems that after WWII that all we do now is give and give with really nothing in return.
Just look at our budget problems and yet Congress gave themselves a nice hefty raise! What is that all about? Especially when they do not do the jobs they were hired for. As for the current President, that speaks for itself.
I believe in order to get our country on the right track, we need to stop aiding everyone in our outer world. Congress should not give themselves raises without the permission of the American citizens. They should not get paid when they can”t balance the budget.
We start drilling for our own resources and not sell or give away these items. We should cut everything across the board by 10 percent and that would be a good beginning. This includes salaries of the President and Congress. That is what I call a fair and balanced cut. What a novel idea.
In the long run if changes are not made in a positive direction we will go by way of the Roman Empire, have no doubt and beware of the “Ides of March.”
