CLEARLAKE — Jury selection began Wednesday in the trial of an accused child molester.
Christopher Adam Sanders, 30, of Lucerne faces 25 counts for child molestation and lewd and lascivious acts with a minor younger than the age of 14. Twelve counts are felonies. The other 13 counts are special allegations related to the alleged victim”s age and the alleged crimes occurring on multiple separate occasions. Sanders was arrested by Clearlake Police Department on Jan. 5, 2009 at 12:30 a.m. Sanders pleaded not guilty to all charges and denies all allegations. More than 40 potential jurors filled the courtroom at South County Superior Court, District 4. Deputy District Attorney Ed Borg, who is prosecuting the case, said he expected selection to continue into today.
