What kept the Board of Supervisors from implementing a new countywide ordinance banning the manufacture, sale and use of methamphetamine?
In doing so the county would be able to add greater penalties for use of methamphetamine in the county. This includes the use of community service hours to help repair and maintain the county road system for the benefit of the county as a whole.
The penalties could vary from the manufacture having the highest fines, sales second and use third. Many counties across the nation banned the sale of booze.
Why not the same for this terrible drug?
Any conviction would allow these fines to be added on by the county.
I am not sure this legally can be done but, I am sure some of the local legal minds could answer that.
This drug needs to be dealt with in the harshest way, for the damage it does to the county and its citizens.
I also believe it would be in the county”s best interest to award cash to folks who provide information leading to the conviction of manufacturers and sellers.
The problem should gain just as much funding as those fund to keep the mussel out of the lake ? you would think.
