I”m hoping everyone in Lake County will come together in regard to the location of our county”s courthouse.
I knew from the beginning that the location the committee chose was not going to be a good one.
I worked for the Lake County Marketing Program for more than 11 years when it was located at Vista Point. Many visitors and local people use this lovely area to eat lunch, stretch their legs and enjoy the lovely view.
It truly is a great place to de-stress. This is one of Lake County”s amazing attractions and should not be disturbed by having a building that would not enhance such a unique place.
I”m hoping that everyone realizes this, and that everyone will take the time to e-mail Anthony Farrington in support to find a new location for our courthouse.
As a member of our community it has been embarrassing for the past several years to see the sign, “Welcome to Lakeport” with the dilapidated Vista Point Shopping Center in the background. It would be wonderful if we could have a friendly entrance into our county seat, as I am all for the Vista Point being a great place for the courthouse.
Taking away the best view of an established landmark is certainly not the path we should be taking to making our town a desirable place to live and visit.
We need to utilize what we have available in the surrounding area and make a better choice for the location of the courthouse to preserve the beauty of our county.
Sometimes we need to think outside the box and make our small town something to talk about, in a good way!
