LAKE COUNTY — The Lake County Farm Bureau (LCFB) and the Lake County Department of Agriculture are hosting a field worker pesticide safety training.
The training is being held on Wednesday at the Lake County Board of Supervisors Chambers from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
The training will be taught in Spanish and English.
Employees working in a treated field (orchard, vineyard, etc.) must be trained in a language they understand before beginning work in any treated field and at least every five years.
A treated field is a field that has been treated with pesticide or had a REI in effect within the last 30 days.
Participants will be issued USEPA training verification cards. The training will cover health effects and pesticide safety.
The cost to attend this training is $10 for Lake County Farm Bureau President”s Club members, $15 for LCFB members and $20 for non-Farm Bureau members.
