CLEARLAKE — A major head-on collision on Old Highway 53 just north of Airport Road at about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday sent as many as four people to the hospital and blocked the roadway. Responding were Clearlake Police Department, Lake County Fire with Clearlake Oaks providing mutual aid and Volunteers in Policing (VIP) providing traffic control. Those injured were transported by ambulance and air ambulance. The cause of the crash and condition of the injured were not available at press time.
