MENDOCINO COUNTY — On Tuesday at approximately 9:40 p.m. Marco Rios, 19, of Santa Rosa was traveling eastbound on Highway 175 east of Buckman Road in a 1994 BMW when he, for unknown reasons, drifted onto the south shoulder. Rios over-corrected his vehicle and ended up on the north shoulder where he hit a fence and a tree. His vehicle became engulfed in flames. When Rios was discovered by a passerby, who pulled Rios out of the car, he was unconscious. Ukiah Area California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Randy England said Rios was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
