Mother and daughter to co-host watercolor class

LAKEPORT — Local artists, Diana Liebe and Phyllis Hanson, team up in a mother-daughter workshop in watercolors, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the Lake County Arts Council”s Main Street Gallery.

The fee is $30 and includes paper. Participants are asked to bring their own watercolor kit and board.

?We Love Tules” accepting films until May 15

LAKEPORT — Films are being accepted through May 15 for the second annual We Love Tules Four-Minute Film Festival. Third Friday concert series continues May 20

LAKEPORT — The latest concert in the Third Friday Live series takes place at 7 p.m. May 20 at the Soper-Reese Community in Lakeport. This reoccurring event gives Lake County artists the opportunity to take center stage.

May”s Third Friday Live features Uncorked!, a five-piece musical group specializing in fiddle melodies of all styles. Don Coffin, the KPFZ bluegrass DJ, plays guitar, the mandolin and sings. Dennis Hadley plays the accordion and is a veteran of several Cajun and Zydeco bands in Northern California. Dan Harrish plays guitar, the mandolin and banjo. Andi Skelton, a private string instructor and concertmaster of the Lake County Symphony, plays the fiddle and violin. Completing the quintet is Eleanor Cook, the assistant director of the CLPA Youth Orchestra and a member of the Lake Co Symphony.

Opening for Uncorked! is Cobb Stompers, composed of Patricia Jekel, fiddle; Dock Jekel, banjo; Scott Serena, guitar and mandolin; and Tamsen Nash, washboard and autoharp. For more information, visit www.cobbstompers.com.

All seats for Third Friday Live are $10. Tickets are available online at www.SoperReeseTheatre.com or at the theater box office, 275 Main St. in Lakeport. The box office is open from noon to 5 p.m. on Thursdays and for two hours before show time on the day of the show.

Free proctoring available at Lakeport Library

LAKEPORT — Free proctering is available to students who need a proctor for online college exams at the Lakeport Library, 1425 High St. Proctors are generally available on Thursday afternoons. For more information, contact the Lakeport Library at 263-8817. Donations for this service are graciously accepted by Friends of the Lake County Library.

New Vintage Productions presents ?Romantic Fools”

CLEARLAKE OAKS ? New Vintage Productions will present “Romantic Fools,” a two-person play by Rich Orloff, 7 p.m. May 6 and 7 at the East Lake Grange, located at 13010 Highway 20 in Clearlake Oaks. Tickets are $15.

According to Claudia Listman, managing director of New Vintage Productions, “Romantic Fools” is a hilarious romantic comedy about building a relationship.

Salituri to judge juried art show

LAKEPORT — Gail Salituri will judge the June juried show, “The Lake County Landscape,” at the Main Street Gallery in Lakeport.

Salituri served as a judge for the California County Fair System during a period of 10 years. Her art career started with studies at San Jose City College, where she spent many seminars with internationally-known artists including Leonard Wren, Bill Schnider and Rom Villa. Since that time she has received many accolades for her work, which is done exclusively in oils. Working from her Lake County home, she depicts California” missions, courtyards, vineyards and wineries. Her work has appeared in “Steppin Out,” “Southwest Art” and “Art of the West” magazines. Her work is currently featured in the Lee Youngman Gallery in Calistoga and her own Inspirations Gallery in Lakeport.

Lake County artists wishing to submit their work for jury can pick up entry information from the Main Street Gallery. Work will be received from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 20 at the gallery, or by special appointment by calling the show coordinator Ray Farrow, 278-0323.

Work juried into the show will hang in the Linda Carpenter Gallery for the month of June. There will be two awards, the “Judges Award” and the “People”s Choice Award,” both of which will be presented during the First Friday Fling on June 3.
