MIDDLETOWN — Logan Smith tossed a one-hitter, expending only 80 pitches in the process, as the Middletown Mustangs blanked Fort Bragg 6-0 in a North Central League I North junior varsity baseball game Monday in Middletown.
Middletown (4-1 North, 10-5 overall) scored five times after two were out in the bottom of the fifth to break open a pitcher”s duel. Michael Davis started the rally with a two-run double and Jack Hamilton added a RBI double.
Smith went 3-for-3 and also stole two bases. On the mound, he struck out three and walked four. He allowed his only hit, a single, with one out in the top of the fifth.
