LAKEPORT– The Lake County Board of Supervisors (BOS) took up and approved an extra item not included on the agenda during its regular meeting Tuesday.
The extra item was a request from the Lake County Sheriff”s Office requesting an extra Interoperable Emergency Communications Grant Program application. County Administrator Kelly Cox said the item needed to be acted upon this week or risk losing the available funds. The BOS unanimously approved the request.
The BOS pulled some items from the consent agenda for discussion. One item was approving an agreement between two mortuaries and the county for mortuary and crematory services. Cox said the facilities had been operating without contracts. The agreement was passed unanimously.
The BOS unanimously approved the creation of a county information security policy to be done by the county human resources department.
The BOS unanimously authorized the mental health department”s request for out-of-county travel and related expenses for non-county employees to attend a client forum. District 3 Supervisor Denise Rushing said this request had been approved in years past before the BOS voted on the item.
The BOS issued a proclamation designating the week of May 21 to 27 as Safe Boating Week.
The proclamation was presented to members of the Lake County chapter of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.
