LAKEPORT — The Clear Lake Cardinals closed out a perfect North Central League I South campaign — their second in a row — with a 24-0 victory over the Upper Lake Cougars on Wednesday in Lakeport.

Clear Lake finishes South play at 8-0 and improves to 17-2 overall. Emily Wingler pitched a perfect game and Haley Garzoli made a couple of outstanding plays to preserve it, according to Coach Gary Pickle.

Morgan Psalmonds had a 3 for 3 day.

Upper Lake falls to 0-7 in league and 2-14 overall.

Also on Wednesday, Fort Bragg beat Middletown 11-1 at Fort Bragg. One day after pounding out 14 hits to Lower Lake, Middletown got just three against Fort Bragg. The game was called in the sixth inning because of the 10-run rule.
