UKIAH ? The Bay Cities Racing Association non-winged midgets and vintage midgets visit the Ukiah Speedway on Saturday night, their first appearance there since 2008.
The Bay Cities Racing Association midget series, established in 1939, is one of the oldest in existence. Midget racers are small, lightweight and powerful cars designed and built specifically for racing. They run both on asphalt and dirt tracks.
Kelseyville”s Darin Snider has been competing in the midget division this season and currently resides in sixth place in the BCRA points standings. BCRA 2008 champion Nick Foster Jr. has the points lead, Dillon Silverman is second, Nick Chivello is third, Shannon McQueen is fourth and many-time champion Floyd Alvis is fifth. Fewer than 100 points separate Foster and Snider.
