REDDING — Fifteen members of the Punisher Wrestling Club of Lower Lake brought home a combined 21 medals and plaques from the Northern Area Wrestling Association Championships on Saturday at Shasta High School.
Club members competed in both freestyle and Greco.
In Greco competition, firsts went to Blake Fredrickson and Bryan Gudino; seconds to Jonathan Fredricks, Tyler Johnson and Skyler Day; and thirds to Daniel Meyer, Austin Fredrickson, Vanessa Cochran and Wesley Dobson.
In freestyle competition, firsts went to Jonathan Fredrickson and Joseph Hughes; seconds to Dobson, Austin Fredrickson, Blake Fredrickson, Erick Moreno in the cadet division, to Thomas Cross in the junior division, and to Johnson in the open division; and thirds to Gudino, Cross in the open division, and Moreno in the junior division.
Moreno, a freshman at Lower Lake High School and a first-year wrestler, had a club-high eight matches on Saturday, bringing home two plaques.
The club has two more tournaments remaining on its season schedule.
