Thanks to Mr. Smoley for interest and input on my letter, but I am in the position of correcting the correction.
According to Karnows”s excellent book “Vietnam,” the following comment proves my point: “In 1970, April 30, American and South Vietnamese forces attacked Communist sanctuaries in Cambodia.”
I believe, by any stretch of the imagination, this could be termed “broadening the war.”
He also proves my original point that the GOP manipulates, omits facts they do not approve or that puts them in a bad light.
Before criticism, just be a little more sure next time when you correct someone who is of a “leftish bent.”
