COBB — A car wreck on Highway 175 Cobb near Harrington Flat Road on Thursday at approximately 6:45 p.m. sent the passenger of the vehicle to the hospital, Officer Jeremy Jensen of the California Highway Patrol said. Jensen said the driver was distracted when a dog in the back of the car jumped into his lap, causing the driver to lose control around a turn. The passenger was taken to a hospital complaining of chest pains. The driver and the dog were not injured. Jensen said the speed of the vehicle as it rounded the turn was unknown.
