LAKEPORT — The Lake County Public Works and Community Development departments will hold an open house at the Lake County Courthouse on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. to introduce and receive comments about the draft environmental document prepared for the South Main Street and Soda Bay Road extension project.
The project would add a center turn lane, bicycle lanes, underground utility lines and improve utility infrastructure on the roads in the South Lakeport area.
A 1.3-mile section of the road would be affected, a 0.5-mile portion of South Main Street near the city limits continuing onto a 0.75-mile section of Soda Bay Road from Highway 175 to 0.1 miles west of Manning Creek.
Goals of the project include removing overhead utilities, improving traffic flow and making the area safer for pedestrian and bicyclists.
Some documents can be reviewed online at www.co.lake.ca.us, and copies of the environmental documentation and other project documents are available on the third floor of the courthouse.
Project information will be on display during the open house, at which project staff will be available to answer the public”s questions. Monday”s open house will take place in the Board of Supervisors” Chambers on the first floor of the courthouse.
