GLENHAVEN — A man who allegedly fell asleep at the wheel woke up with his car submerged in Clear Lake Friday, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Greg Buchholz. The man, who is in his late 70s, was driving on Highway 20 at approximately 5:30 p.m. heading westbound just outside of Lucerne traveling at approximately 45 mph when he reportedly fell asleep and drifted off the road into the lake. A woman who witnessed the event dove into the water and rescued the man.
