I am a student at Kelseyville High School. I am sad to say that I have decided to decline to participate in the Potter Valley Rodeo Queen competition because of the deadly and contagious EHV virus sweeping the Western United States.
Yes, it is true that many events are being cancelled and many more are still holding events.
Because of this and for the love of my horses; I couldn”t take a chance of jeopardizing the health of my horses by them catching this virus since there is no real vaccine available for it.
I would like to thank all my sponsors and everyone who has bought tickets from me, such as Roger Beavers, UCC Rentals, Clearlake Lava Inc., Clearcast Concrete and Stone Products, Nicolette Keithly Quarter Horses and more. Also, a big thank you to Mary Brown and my mom and dad for standing by me in making this difficult decision. I wish the other contestant well. Thank you very much.
