MESA, Ariz. — The Phoenix Music Awards honored the Lost Boys on April 30 during its red carpet event at the historic Salt Mine Studios in Mesa, Ariz.

The Lost Boys, a teenage rock band from Lake County, accepted the award as 2011 National Rock Artist of the Year in recognition of its extensive national touring schedule, multiple industry awards and the independent release of its sophomore album “Running Red Lights,” produced by multi-Platinum, multi-Grammy Award winner David Kershenbaum.

The band kicked off the prestigious award show with a two-song live performance, followed by the presentation of awards to more than 30 Arizona-based artists and nine national acts from across the United States.

This is not the first award for The Lost Boys. During the formative years, the band won numerous competitions, including the Ukiah Idol Competition, Ukiah Band Slam and Northern California”s Rising Stars Competition. Then the touring began in earnest. The inaugural 60-date, “Look Out World” tour of 2009 featured an array of theater and radio shows, along with multiple special guest appearances with headliners such as 3 Doors Down, All-American Rejects, Kelly Clarkson, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Heart, Toby Keith and Tim McGraw.

During its “Why Not Now” Tour in 2010, the band was named the DIY Music Festival”s 2010 Independent Artist of the Year. That same year, the Lost Boys was also named the 2010 Rock Artist of the Year at the 20th annual Los Angeles Music Awards at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.

The accolades continue in 2011, with a nomination for the Lost Boys and its “Running Red Lights” album for Rock Album of the Year and a nomination for lead vocalist Beau Bastian as Male Vocalist of the Year at the upcoming 2011 Los Angeles Music Awards, to be held Nov. 10 at the Avalon in Hollywood.
