LAKEPORT — Proud parents, teachers, students and Lakeport city dignitaries attended a Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) graduation on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

D.A.R.E. is substance abuse prevention education program that provides youth with skills to avoid involvement in drugs, gangs and violence.

More than 100 Terrace Middle School youth received certificates of completion. Lakeport Police Department (LPD) School Resource Officer Stephanie Green taught the course.

LPD Police Chief Brad Rasmussen recognized Green, the students, parents and teachers for the success of the program. A video presentation closed out the program and refreshments were served.
