BERKELEY — Clear Lake High School senior Brian Bradley finished seventh in the 300-meter hurdles finals Saturday during the Meet of Champions at U.C. Berkeley”s Edwards Stadium.

One day after setting a school record with a time of 40.38 seconds during a qualifying heat, Bradley ran 40.82 in the finals won by Ken Grimbols of Las Lomes in 38.34.

The top four finishers, all of whom advance to the CIF State Championships Friday and Saturday in Clovis, were winner Grimbols, Caleb Cunha of Fort Bragg (38.90), Kevin Kutchera of Granada (39.53) and Rom Skrovonski of Newark Memorial (39.93).

Bradley”s school-record time on Friday broke an 18-year-old Clear Lake High mark established by Peter Alexander (41.0) in 1993. Alexander went on to run for Chico State University.

Also on Saturday, Middletown High junior Tanner Alves placed 20th in the long jump finals won by Trevell Wallace of El Cerrito with a leap of 23 feet, 11 inches. Alves” best jump was 19-4 3/4.

In Friday”s MOC action, Middletown High junior Cheyenne Snow placed 19th in the girls” shotput finals while Kelseyville sophomore Arnulfo Vargas finished 16th in the boys” triple jump finals.
