CLEARLAKE — In response to a second shooting incident reported on Tuesday night, Clearlake Police were dispatched to Burns Valley Shopping Mall on Olympic Drive around 11:30 p.m. after a woman reported a man pulled a gun and fired approximately two shots into the air. The woman said she was driving in the parking lot of the shopping center when a man confronted her over her looking at him.

The suspect was described as a white, male adult about 18 years old. He was further described as 5-feet 8-inches tall with a slender to average-sized build with short, dirty-blond-colored hair. He was last seen wearing a grey T-shirt over a black long-sleeved sweatshirt, dark-colored pants and a black baseball cap. He was wearing a black, cloth-type backpack and was pushing a grey-colored BMX-style bicycle. He was last seen heading west through the Burn Valley Mall parking lot.

The suspect was with a white female adult, also about 18 years old with brown, shoulder-length hair who was last seen wearing dark-colored clothing. The woman said following the confrontation a short argument ensued and when she began driving away from the suspect, the man allegedly pulled a gun and fired about two shots into the air. The woman and the man with her in the vehicle were not injured.

The woman, who Joseph said was frightened, then called 9-1-1 and Clearlake Police officers arrived on scene within minutes of the call. Joseph said that officers immediately established a perimeter around the shopping center and the walnut tree orchard directly to the north of the shopping center. They also obtained Lake County Fire Protection Districts” Forward Looking Infra-Red (FLIR) video monitor and attempted to locate the suspects in the orchard, a possible area where the suspects fled to. Joseph said after about a 45-minute to an hour search the suspects were not located.

Anyone with information about this shooting, or any other crime, is urged to contact the Clearlake Police Department at 994-8251. Callers may remain anonymous.
