CLEARLAKE — Detectives with the Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) Narcotics Task Force arrested a Lucerne woman Tuesday on felony narcotics charges and seized nearly one-quarter ounce of methamphetamine that the woman allegedly brought to a court appearance.
According to LCSO Capt. James Bauman, 24-year-old Sahra Arline Wilcoxson appeared in the Lake County Superior Court Department 4 in Clearlake Tuesday afternoon for a narcotics case stemming from an October 2010 arrest by the LCSO.
Wilcoxson was facing felony charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sales, probation violation and other narcotics related charges, Bauman said.
While Wilcoxson was waiting in the courtroom to appear before Judge Stephen O. Hedstrom, Lake County Probation officers brought her to the LCSO substation, located adjacent to the court, for a “routine compliance check of the terms of her probation,” Bauman said.
LCSO task force detectives were on duty at the substation at the time and assisted the probation officers with Wilcoxson”s detention, Bauman said.
During questioning, Wilcoxson allegedly divulged that she would not pass a drug screening because she had recently used methamphetamine.
Bauman said she also told detectives she had methamphetamine and a “meth” pipe on her person, concealed in her bra. Wilcoxson then reportedly retrieved a baggie containing nearly one-quarter ounce of methamphetamine from beneath one side of her bra and a glass pipe from the other side.
Wilcoxson was arrested and booked into the Lake County Jail on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of narcotics paraphernalia possession. She will also face another charge of violating her formal felony probation as a result of Tuesday”s arrest, Bauman said.
The previous narcotics and probation violation cases for which Wilcoxson was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday were continued to another date, Bauman said.
“The Sheriff”s Narcotics Task Force will continue its efforts to eradicate narcotics from the communities of Lake County and seize the suspected profits of drug trafficking for asset forfeiture whenever possible,” Bauman said.
