Congressman Weiner must feel betrayed. He had every reason to believe his was acceptable behavior for a congressman, especially a Democrat. After all it was a Republican, Teddy Roosevelt, who declared our government should “Speak softly but carry a big stick.” That”s what Weiner thought he did on the Internet.

Clinton did a lot worse — better? — in person and in living color with Monica, in addition to his escapades with Jenifer, Juanita, Kathleen and others. When accused of violent rape by Juanita Broaderick, his response was (paraphrased), “So what, the statute of limitations has run out.” Even after he was found guilty of a felony for his response to Paula, Democrats kept him in office because he was an “engaging liar” and his sex habits were his own business. About the only woman in his administration who never accused him of attempting sex was Hillary.

Democratic Congressman Barney Frank”s boyfriend ran a homosexual whorehouse in Frank”s basement. Frank denied knowing and declared that when he learned, he was so confused he didn”t know which way to turn

Now we have Obama reversing the military “Don”t ask; don”t tell” presumably with, “Ask; tell” but only for homosexuals. No one is pushing a similar law allowing heterosexuals to kick back while describing their sexual exploits during working hours. They”re supposed to be shooting and killing enemies with satisfying regularity. Notice I don”t use “gay” for homosexual: I resent the theft of the word, as in, “We”ll all feel gay when Johnny comes marching home.”

To be fair, things are different than when I was in the military. Women are now in but men are prohibited from noticing the difference and it”s a court-martial offense to ogle. One young soldier put the problem in perspective: “When there”s a naked woman changing clothes in the tent, it”s hard not to notice.” The pregnancy rate on warships supports his claim. That problem is over: Obama has decreed that he will now see naked men exactly as he sees naked women.

As for Weiner, I see why he believed he could let it all hang out without causing offense.
