My name is Frank Perez, owner of Rancho de la Fuente. This was brought to my attention by an employee, a person who has donated her time and care for an elderly man for many years. On the evening of June 4 it was raining very heavy and my employee was very upset as her 93-year-old friend was illegally evicted from his so-called home in Kelseyville.

I couldn”t believe the story so I had to go look for myself to find this sweet elderly senior hunched over in his chair with tears in his eyes as his bed and furniture were soaking wet from the rain. He went on to tell me that the reason he was being asked to leave through an interpreter is because the owners of the property did not want him to die in a makeshift home that had no toilet or running water and had to urinate in a bottle and with no shower facilities whatsoever.

Since then I spoke with the owners and had to threaten them that I was going to get a lawyer and turn them into code enforcement and the health department as the living facility for this property and the owners property are far below living standards. We have taken two loads of furniture to the dump that were ruined by the rain and we are in the process of finding him a new place to live. My question is how many other senior citizens in our county are being treated like this? Just remember, one day we will all be old too.
