In Response to “Something fishy this way comes:” I like tomatoes, and I like fish but when I choose to eat a tomato that is exactly what I want to eat, one of those delicious, ripe, juicy red fruits.

I do not want to eat a tomato that has genes from another plant, animal, antibiotic, bacteria or pharmaceutical drug inserted into it.

When it comes to food, people make choices based on likes and dislikes and nobody argues with them, for instance I don”t like anchovies on pizza.

I also don”t like food with genes mechanically and randomly, inserted into them.

I do not need to argue that there is anything rational about these likes and dislikes of mine; but just like I can choose to not have anchovies on my pizza, I want to be able to choose to not eat food that has had its genes tampered with.

In order to exercise the basic American right of choice in what we eat, genetically engineered foods must be labeled.
