COBB — On Tuesday at approximately 7:35 p.m., a 26 year-old man from Cobb riding a Yamaha ATV died as a result of a solo-vehicle crash.
The crash occurred on Gifford Springs Road northbound, south of Tanya Terrace. He was traveling at an undetermined high rate of speed. He was traveling uphill and drove straight through a right curve in the road.
The man, not yet identified, traveled off of the roadway and hit with a cluster of trees along the east shoulder.
He sustained fatal injuries as a result and was pronounced dead on scene. He was not wearing a helmet and alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the collision, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP).
CHP Officer Adam Garcia is investigating the incident.
