COBB — A Cobb man who died in an ATV crash on Tuesday at 7:35 p.m. was identified as Samuel Douglas Murphy, 26, according to the Lake County Coroner”s Office.
He was traveling on Gifford Springs Road near Boggs Mountain State Forest. Murphy hit a tree and landed in a ditch. He was not wearing a helmet. According to a California Highway Patrol press release, alcohol may have been a factor in the cause of the crash. Murphy was pronounced dead at the scene.
