LAKE COUNTY — On Thursday at approximately 2:26 a.m. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers Ryan Erickson and Dan Frederick responded to a reported non-injury collision on Highway 29 south of Cole Creek Road in Kelseyville.
Upon arrival at the scene officer”s identified the driver as Ann Askim, 26, of Lower Lake. They also contacted her passenger as Billy Neldon, 23, also of Lower Lake.
Officer”s observed both were exhibiting signs of drug use. Askim was given sobriety tests and was arrested for driving under the influence and for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Neldon was also arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance. A search of Neldon was conducted and officers located a glass pipe and a small amount of suspected methamphetamine.
A search of the vehicle revealed additional methamphetamine and an electronic scale. Askim was booked into the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility for driving under the influence and for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Neldon was booked into the jail for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
The incident is still under investigation by Officer Ryan Erickson.
