It”s time again Fourth of July fireworks. Personally I enjoy all the firework displays put on by Lakeport, Clearlake Oaks, Konocti Vista and now Robinson Rancheria at the fairgrounds. What I don”t appreciate are the individuals who find the need to have their own personal show in the county. The City of Lakeport and the organizations that are fundraising by selling fireworks need to make sure that signs are specific as to the Lakeport city limits and large enough at their stands, maybe a map showing the boundaries. There should be large signs at all exits roads from Lakeport City Limits informing visitors and locals too that fireworks are illegal outside Lakeport city limits. We have already had fireworks set off twice across the street from us by vacationers. The Lake County Sheriff”s Department responded but they are stretched tight enough without having irresponsible people disobey the law by setting off fireworks. I am hoping that the Record-Bee will also daily print a notice on the front page about the boundaries.
