I picked up the paper to read and saw where a person had died. I said oh, I hope it is no one I know. I have said that for years with a sigh of relief that it was no one I knew or someone I knew who had family who had died. Saturday as I read the paper I saw my dear friends name in the paper as being the one who had died in the big rig accident.
If there was a stop light at the intersection, she would be alive today. My doctor is in Hidden Valley and every time I turn on to Hartmann it is a nightmare because of traffic speed. When I turn or try to turn to exit Hartmann to come home, it is worse than a nightmare. When you stop and wait for traffic to leave a big truck or SUV will pull up and block the south view and you are stuck. There is a desperate need for a light at that spot because the south traffic travels so fast it is hard to exit. A vehicle traveling fast will cross over the yellow line to keep going when a vehicle turns from the South onto Hartmann Road. It is a nightmare to see and causes so much stress. At the time of day she was killed I am sure the sun was a factor in the accident, blinded by the glare. CALTRANS please fix the situation before someone else gets killed. Put lights up, post a slower speed before crossing the bridge … do something.
My dear friend Samira is gone forever due to the neglect of our state for not fixing the problem long ago.
