The letter to the editor titled, “A nice thing” in the June 24 Record-Bee just doesn”t set right with me.
There are a lot of organizations out there giving the veteran “survivors” appreciation and attention with helping them to try to get back their lives.
I know a lot of veterans who are getting this help from the VA in Clearlake, The VA in Lakeport, the Post Trauma in Lakeport on Bevins, the VFW on Austin in Clearlake and more are out there.
The decorating of graves is the only way we can show our appreciation for the ones who have already given their lives for us. This has been going on for years.
I personally did this until I was grown and married. I have a lot of members of my family who deserve this honor, including my brother. My husband was in WWII, but passed away on his 86th birthday April and didn”t have the advantage of these services.
Please Mr. Worth and Mr. Ridgel, do some soul searching in honoring all vets who have passed on and those are still trying to get their lives back together.
