LAKEPORT — The preliminary hearing for a Clearlake Oaks man accused of killing his brother nearly two years ago is set to begin next week in a Clearlake courtroom.
Alberto Alejandro Montes, 26, was arrested in mid-October 2009 and charged with murder for allegedly shooting to death his brother, Rafael Montes.
Alberto Montes, who remains in custody, appeared at the Lake County Courthouse Friday morning for preliminary hearing setting. Judge Richard C. Martin scheduled the estimated daylong hearing to begin Thursday morning in Department 4.
