This letter is in response to Steven MacDonald, who I think, is trying to perpetuate a far-left-wing lie about President Reagan, one of our greatest Presidents ever. In six words he ended the “Cold War” by saying; “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.”
President Reagan inherited a worse economy than Obama. President Jimmy Carter left us with gas lines, a 21.5 percent home mortgage rate and double-digit unemployment.
Steven Moore, of the CATO Institute, stated that no act in the last quarter-century had a more profound impact on the U.S. economy of the 1980s and 1990s than the Reagan Tax Cut of 1981.
The American economy grew by more than a third in size, producing a $15 trillion increase in American wealth in very income group, rich and poor.
Federal tax receipts went from $512 billion to $1,032 trillion ? nearly double. We had the greatest economical growth for 92 months, than in any other era.
Stewart Varney was interviewing a Democratic Senator who said Reaganomics was “Voodoo Economics” and not real.
Stewart”s jaw dropped and he said “you have to be joking,” the Senator replied, “No, I”m not.”
Well, some people think we never landed on the moon — it was just a stunt.
Yes, Reagan did leave us with a deficit, but it pales to what this administration has done for us so far.
So the next time you want to load us up with pure bovine excrement, check your facts first. A simple Internet search will do it.
And, as an afterthought, President Obama did not capture Osama bin Laden, our military did the job.
To be more specific the SEALS took care of it. Our military had never given up the hunt, even though it did take 10 years. We should all be very proud of them.
