LAKEPORT — On Saturday at approximately 3:44 a.m. Lakeport Police Department (LPD) officers responded to the Skylark Motel where it was reported that a vehicle went into the lake.
Officers on scene located the driver Kristina Colon, 23, from Clearlake. She was being assisted by motel patrons for injuries sustained from escaping the sinking vehicle.
Colon was transported to Sutter Lakeside Hospital for treatment of her injuries. She was later arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Colon was booked at the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility.
Colon”s vehicle was recovered from Clear Lake by the fire personnel dive team and a local tow company. The vehicle was approximately 75 yards from the shoreline and Colon was determined to be the solo-occupant of the vehicle.
