I am writing because there has been a lot of interest in the 94-year-old man who was thrown out of his home in June.

I met with the property owner and we both agreed that the code enforcement would evaluate his home. They red tagged it and deemed it unsuitable to live in.

Prior to this all happening the elderly man agreed to move into a suitable home as soon as we found one.

We found a home for him and we took him to visit it and he was very content with everything. At the last moment he got scared and did not want to move from the house that was red tagged.

We explained to him that he could not live there but he was very stubborn and he refused to leave. So, the Lake County Sheriff was called out by the owner and he did an excellent job conveying to the man in his own language with a lot of running around and phone calls being made, his two daughters that live in Modesto and in their late 70s and he is now living with them getting the proper care that he needs.

The moral of this story is when you”re dealing with elderly people you need to have a lot of patience.
