What”s really going on?
I”ve been watching the so-called budget negotiations in Washington. In order to try to find out what is really going on, I”ve watched liberal, neutral and conservative news stations and trying to suppress my own prejudices.
What I have been seeing is a game of political brinkmanship aimed not at solving our very serious budget problems, but attempts to favorably position each party for the next election.
This is being done with fear tactics, misrepresentation of facts and bargaining tactics that one would expect to see on a grammar school playground.
The politicians are trying to divide the electorate in order to gain a supposed advantage in the next election.
Some plans are being presented by both parties, but without a sincere effort to work out differences to make something work.
Those who don”t have a plan can”t dazzle us with their brilliance so they try to baffle us with their bull manure. I don”t know the answers to solving the budget problems, that is way above my pay grade.
That”s why I vote to hire somebody who supposedly has the knowledge and experience to do the job. Unfortunately our elected officials seem to be dragging down our fine country for their own short-term political gain. The Emperor Nero would have been proud.
