UKIAH — It was a night for the Knights in the Bill Binns Machine Shop Modified division at Ukiah Speedway Saturday night.

Dustin Knight, of Kelseyville, not only set fast time during time trials, but went on to win the 30-lap main event by finishing almost a half-lap ahead the field.

As the 30-lapper progressed, Dustin lengthened his gap and at the finish line, he was way out in front to take the win. Darrin Knight and Eric Johnson were nose-to-tail for second and third. Richard Knight finished fourth with Justin Wilder taking fifth.

It was Dustin”s second win of the season, and first since May 7.

Darrin was also a modified winner during the evening, capturing the 10-lap fast heat. The junior trophy presenter was Darrin”s daughter, Ceci, who gave her father a big hug along with the trophy.

In other action, Jeremy Doss, 16, of Upper Lake, survived three yellow-flag incidents before taking the lead away from Danny Allen on lap 23 and went on to capture his fourth feature event in the Airport Auto Brokers Legends Cars class. Earlier Doss set a new Legends Cars track record with a blistering 14.001-second lap. Dave Land III and defending champ Bill Kistenmacher took home heat race honors.

Another track record was set in the Bud Bombers, with 2010 Bomber champion George Abella, of Lakeport, coming in at 15.452 seconds. But it was Ron Duke Jr., of Redwood Valley, who crossed the finish line first in the race and giving a sixth feature win to “Team Duke” in 2011. Duke also won the fast heat race and Bob Mook took the other bomber heat.
