LAKE COUNTY — Lake Family Resource Center (LFRC), a local nonprofit, community-benefit organization, is recruiting for board members in its “General Lake County Resident” category.
The organization wishes its nine-member Board of Directors to reflect the ethnic, geographic and lifestyle diversity of the Lake County community.

LFRC”s programs focus on children, young adults and families and supporting a safe, stable and healthy Lake County community.
The agency”s programs include Freedom House, the county”s only domestic violence shelter and supporting services, a rape crisis center, mental health services (including child abuse treatment), teen parenting, Early Head Start, youth development services, parenting workshops and others.
Its board of directors focuses on organizational oversight, funds development, policy development, evaluation of the executive director, strategic planning and exercises its legal and ethical obligation to ensure the agency does the best work possible in pursuit of its goals.
Board members understand the level of public trust that exists with the community. Board members act in the best interest of the organization, act as ambassadors in the community, make the agency a personal philanthropical priority and attend board meetings.
