LAKE COUNTY — Emergency personnel responded to the Robinson Creek Bridge on Highway 29 just after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday because of a beverage delivery truck on its side. The initial investigation indicated the truck was traveling northbound on Highway 29 less than one-quarter miles north of Mockingbird Lane when, for unknown reasons, it struck a one-foot-high curb on the bridge. The vehicle continued across the bridge and up an embankment on the east side of the road before coming to rest on its left side. Early indications are the incident was caused by a ?sleepy driver,” Sgt. Dave Stark, of the California Highway Patrol, said. The male driver, in his 20s, was conscious as emergency personnel worked to free him from the cab. The Record-Bee received no update Tuesday evening on the driver”s condition after he left the scene.
