LAKE COUNTY — About an acre of wildland burned in the area of west Widgeon Way above Clearlake Oaks on Tuesday night. The cause of the fire remains under the investigation by CAL FIRE. Northshore Fire Protection District (NFPD) Battalion Chief Pat Brown said units responded at about 8:50 p.m. and that the fire was considered contained within about an hour. The last unit cleared the scene around midnight. According to Brown, an 80-foot-by-60-foot pile of six-foot logs also burned in the blaze. NFPD units responding along with Brown included with two engines and a water tender. CAL FIRE responded with three engines, a hand crew and a battalion chief.
