KELSEYVILLE — Bill Champlin, namesake and leader of the seminal 1960s Bay Area rock band The Sons of Champlin, and former lead vocalist of the rock/pop band Chicago, brings his solo endeavor, Champlin, to the Moore Family Winery stage on Saturday.

Champlin features Bill Champlin performing lead vocals, guitar and keyboard, his wife Tamara Champlin on vocals, and their son Will Champlin on keyboard, guitar and vocals. Backed by a powerfully funky rhythm section consisting of Carmen Grillo (Tower of Power) on guitar, Bobby Watson (Rufus) on bass and Herman Matthews (Michael McDonald) on drums, Champlin”s gritty, soulful vocals promise an evening of rock ?n” roll and R&B.

The performance will include Grammy-award-winning compositions “After The Love Is Gone” (Earth, Wind, & Fire) and “Turn It Around” (George Benson). Opening the show will be the Bay Area group Frobeck.
